Beyond the Prescription: How Culinary Medicine Can Support GLP-1 Therapy | October 22, 2025

GLP-1 medications are transforming obesity treatment, but medication alone is not enough. Many patients experience challenges such as side effects, nutrient deficiencies, loss of muscle mass, and weight regain when lifestyle changes are not addressed. This webinar explores how culinary medicine and teaching kitchen programs can play a vital role in supporting patients using GLP-1s.

Featuring insights from recent research and expert clinical experience, this session will highlight how teaching kitchens can provide hands-on support for nutrition and lifestyle interventions that enhance GLP-1 outcomes. Topics include strategies for managing side effects with food, preventing nutrient deficiencies, preserving muscle and bone health, addressing social and behavioral factors, and promoting equitable access to healthy eating. Participants will learn how to integrate practical culinary education, group programs, and Food is Medicine interventions into clinical and community settings to help patients achieve sustainable results.
